Kate-Lynn Holley

Your neighbor running for State Senate

I’m Kate-Lynn Holley, a mom, small business owner, and lifelong Northwest Indiana resident. For me, public service is about putting people first, not parties or corporations.

My path here wasn’t exactly traditional. Before becoming a Northwest Indiana Realtor, I took some unexpected turns including stepping into a WWE ring as a professional wrestler in 2018. That experience taught me resilience, strategy, and how to hold my ground under pressure. I even used my earnings from wrestling to pay for real estate school, which launched my career helping families find homes.

These days, folks across the Region know me as the “Lemon Rice Realtor”, a nickname I earned from sharing my love for local lemon rice soup on social media. It might sound quirky, but it’s become a fun way to connect with neighbors and celebrate the little things that make Northwest Indiana special.

Rooted in Northwest Indiana

Growing up in a low-income home taught me lessons no textbook ever could. My family relied on programs like Angel Tree and Medicaid, and I saw firsthand how a helping hand can change a life. Those early experiences shaped my values: faith, hard work, resilience, and the belief that we all have a responsibility to look out for each other.

After graduating from Gavit High School in 2006, I stayed rooted in my community through theater, service, and my unexpected wrestling journey. Each chapter taught me discipline, grit, and the importance of standing up for what’s right while respecting others.

Helping Families Build Stability

As a Northwest Indiana Realtor, I help families navigate one of life’s biggest decisions: buying a home. This work keeps me close to the real pressures families face—rising costs, stagnant wages, and a housing market that too often favors big interests over everyday people.

Every day, I see families facing impossible choices. Young couples can’t afford homes in the neighborhoods they love. Veterans search for safe, affordable housing. Seniors on fixed incomes are priced out of the communities they built. These aren’t just numbers—they’re my neighbors, and their struggles drive my work.

Giving Back Because It Matters

My commitment to our community goes far beyond my day job. I’ve championed STEM education, gathered resources for teachers, and collected school supplies for families in need. Volunteering with the Challenger Learning Center and investing in our kids and neighborhoods just feels right.

That experience taught me that the best way to honor the help you receive is to make sure there’s enough for the next family, too.

Why I’m Running for Indiana State Senate

I’m running because I’m tired of politicians who make big promises but deliver little for working families.

I can’t sit on the sidelines while neighbors struggle to keep the lights on, afford healthcare, or hold onto the dream of a stable future for their children. I’ve seen too many good people squeezed by rising costs and systems that put corporate profits ahead of families.

No matter your politics, I believe we have more in common than we think. We all want safe neighborhoods, strong schools, good jobs, and a real shot for our kids to build better lives. Together, we can rally around practical solutions that truly work for families.

I’m not a career politician climbing the ladder. I’m your neighbor, a mom, and a working Hoosier—ready to listen, bring people together, and hold powerful interests accountable to the people they serve.
